Aston Villa could line up a shock move for the Swansea City manager, Gary Monk if the club was to sack manager, Tim Sherwood as reports are currently suggesting. Matt Law from the Daily Telegraph reports that Monk would be taken into consideration for the post at Villa Park if Sherwood was to be fired from the hot seat in the Midlands.
Aston Villa take on Swansea at the weekend with the Daily Mirror’s Neil Moxley reporting that Tim Sherwood only had two games to save his job last week. The weekend saw the Villans go down 2-0 to Chelsea leaving Sherwood’s side already four points adrift. It is believed that if Villa were to look at Monk as a replacement for Sherwood he would set Villa back £3-million in compensation to the Swans.
Other Options
Daivd Moyes has come under increasing pressure at Real Sociedad and would welcome an approach from Villa if an opportunity arose, meanwhile Brendan Rodgers (who has also been linked with Villa) is believed to want to take a break away from the game.
