Aston Villa have tabled a bid for the Lyon striker, Claudio Beauvue. Manu Lonjon from Foot Mercato reports how Villa have launched a move for the out of favour and transfer listed striker.

The 27-year old found the net 17 times in the Ligue 1 last season while on loan at Guingamp from Bastia, but he has failed to assert himself over Alexandre Lacazette at Lyon since making a summer move from his original club.

Lyon are now willing to listen to offers for him with The Villans putting a move in.

He has found game time at Lyon featuring 18 times in all competitions while scoring only five times. Lyon paid a reported €5-million for him in the summer so that gives a rough idea on the amount Villa would have to pay for his services.

The story has broken on the same day in which The Mirror reported Villa were already preparing for the Championship with scouts ordered to find experienced players whose contracts run out at the end of current season.
