Christian Santos has been on of many players Aston Villa have had a link with this window and now his manager at NEC Nijmegen, Ernest Faber, has admitted to Dutch news outlet, De Gelderlander that the striker could well be on his way out of the Eredivisie side. Liderendeportes previously reported a move.

I think Christian is ready for something different

I’d like to keep him. He trains well and shoot all the balls in there. But he also has his own choices and interests

Santos has found the net on 11 occasions so far this season in only 17 appearances, with the striker recently admitting in an interview just how low his buyout clause is at NEC. The forward’s current deal runs out in the summer also.

 

He made his Venezuela debut last year and has since made three appearances, scoring once.

The 27-year old joined NEC from Waasland-Beveren in 2014, but previously played at German side, Arminia Bielefeld and KAS Eupen.

NEC currently sit sixth in the Dutch Eredivisie with Santos viewed to be a vital cog to the side.
