Villa send scouts to watch Belgian star
Aston Villa have been linked with Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi after The Daily Mail reported that Villa sent scouts to watch the forward in action, as did Liverpool, Manchester United and West Ham.
Other Premier League sides in Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle have also all previously showed an interest in the Belgian international.
The 22-year old is valued at £25-million by Marseille; a ridiculous tag for Aston Villa to even seemingly consider, which begs the question why they are scouting him in the first place.
Batshuayi joined the French Ligue 1 side from Standard Liege in 2014 and has since gone on to make 46 appearances – scoring 21 goals.
He is one of many strikers linked with Villa in recent days with Seydou Doumbia, Loic Remy and Christian Santos all also being of interest to the Premier League’s bottom side.
Batshuayi’s current contract runs out in 2020 so the chances of getting him on the cheap are next to zero.
