N’Zogbia making life difficult for Villa
Aston Villa outcast Charles N’Zogbia is causing problems for his club off the field, threatening to see out his hugely expensive contract with the Villans instead of making a move away, according to The Mirror.
N’Zogbia is said to be earning a simply staggering £63,000 a week; an astronomical amount to pay a player that has made just two appearances this season and has never really lived up to the expectations set of him upon his arrival five years ago.
The Frenchman is currently training with the Villa under-21 squad, making no real progress or development at the club and very simply hindering their wage bill.
A source has told The Mirror of N’Zogbia’s current situation, claiming that the player is more than happy to see out his contract.
Charles seems quite happy just turning up for training. Some days he is even in and out of the training ground ground before midday. In the international break when he gets a few days off he sometimes pops over to Miami.
N’Zogbia did, however, have the chance to leave Villa Park this month to seek pastures new in Greece, in the form of AEK Athens in a loan deal until the end of the season, however the controversial winger turned down this move.
Due to the hefty amount of money that N’Zogbia is currently earning, it comes as no surprise to see manager Remi Garde keen to get the 29-year-old off the wage bill in order to free up some more room for other signings.
N’Zogbia is reportedly angling for a move to the MLS when his contract expires, but for Aston Villa, the sooner a move away from Villa Park is in the offing, the better.
