Garde admits Villa were lucky against Norwich
Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has admitted that his side were lucky to beat relegation rivals Norwich City last weekend. Garde was speaking at his pre-Liverpool press conference.
‘Sometimes you’re unlucky and don’t get what you deserve. Why did we beat Norwich? Maybe because we were a bit lucky.’
Aston Villa secured a vital 2-0 victory over Norwich last week, but Remi Garde believes that his team are capable of playing better and beating the better quality opposition. ‘We didn’t play that well against Norwich.
From my point of view, we conceded to many opportunities too our opponents. We were a bit lucky but the three points were important.’
Remi Garde also went on to say, ‘We need to improve if we are to earn more points in the next game.’
One man Garde was full of praise for was veteran Villa striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor.
According to the Frenchman, Agbonlahor brings something different to the Villa attack and is always a threat with his running ability. ‘The way he runs he is different to other players. He likes to go across the defence line, stretch the opponents. The way he runs creates space when he doesn’t have the ball for players like Jordan and Carles. ‘
