The fate of Aston Villa is surely sealed. Relegation to the Championship has been on the cards for many seasons, but now it looks a real possibility.
The clearout at Villa Park this summer will be like no other ever seen at The Villans with Kieran Richardson and Charles N’Zogbia both seeing their contracts coming to an end, and many big earners expected to go as part of a major reshuffle of budgets.
We have decided to take a look at how we would like to see the side line up next season. A few signings and youth dominate the eleven.
The former-Spurs goalkeeper looks right at home in the Championship, he looks better than a second division player.
We have been linked with him before, would he come to Villa Park? Can’t see why not! He has chalked up over 100 appearances for the Bees and would be a superb acquisition and a much better option to Brad Guzan and Mark Bunn.
Jordan Lyden
The versatile Ozzy has been touted as the next big thing out of the Villa academy. Nobody is quite sure where this man’s best position is, but many have called for him to be deployed at right back.
Nathan Baker
Fans may laugh at the idea of bringing Nathan Baker back into the side, but he has been solid in recent months for Bristol City as they try to mount a survival fight in the Championship.
A year in the Championship will have helped Baker a lot, he could be perfectly primed to start for the Villans.
Jores Okore
A bit of an experienced head compared to the rest of this defence. There are huge question marks over Micah Richards so Jores Okore gets the nod.
Jordan Amavi
Jordan Amavi is one that we cannot see leaving in the summer. Hopefully, he sticks around.
Question marks have always been raised over Joe Bennett and it is hard to see him taking over from Jordan Amavi, but he has a huge point to prove and he could well be of help. He spent last season on loan at Brighton and did well.
Aly Cissokho isn’t good enough and neither is Kieran Richardson, who looks set to leave.
Adama Traore
Adama Traore will tear shreds in defences far and wide across the country if we manage to keep hold of him.
He has a lot of work to do if he wants to be a big player for the Villans. His current teamworking ability is not up to scratch.
Mile Jedinak
Mile Jedinak is someone Villa should make a priority this summer. The Austrailian has struggled to fit into Alan Pardew’s plans are Selhurst, but he is one that would certainly fit Villa like a glove.
He is the epitome of a leader and what Villa fans are crying out for. Jedinak would also be available reletively cheap.
Jordan Veretout
Midfield is a tough one, Jordan Veretout has had a tough job this season, but a year in the Championship will make him a far better player.
His creative spark is the reason Villa signed him. He could flourish in the Championship. Midfield is the toughest area to pick.
Who would you have?
Jack Grealish
He has fallen off the radar totally this campaign, but surely he cannot of lost his ability to glide past a player? He knows what it means to play for Aston Villa. Give him a shot.
Jordan Ayew
Jordan Ayew is a class above. It will be tough to even keep hold of him in the summer, but if we do it is game on next campaign.
Rudy Gestede
Perhaps the toughest call of them all, but Rudy Gestede has proven he can score goals in the Championship. There is no reason why he cannot do it again.
We sincerely hope we pick up a proven striker, but that will be tough on the shoestring budget.
