Villa defender set for Greek switch
According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa defender Jose Angel Crespo is closing in on a move to Greek side PAOK this summer.
The report says that Crespo has agreed personal terms with PAOK and that the two clubs have reached an agreement over a price for the defender, with Villa wanting to recoup the £500k they paid last summer.
Villa signed the defender at the start of last season, on a three-year deal from Cordoba in La Liga. However, he is set to leave just 1/3 of the way into his contract.
He has made just one appearance for Villa in the last 12 months, and spent half of last season out on loan to Rayo Vallecano in Spain.
PAOK now seem to be closing in on the signing, despite interest from clubs in Italy and Spain.
The deal is expected to go through in the coming days as Villa begin to shape their squad for the upcoming Championship campaign.
