West Ham linked with move for Villa forward
According to the print version of L’Equipe (via Foot Mercato) Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew is keen on holding talks with Premier League side West Ham, having heard of their interest in his services.
West Ham have been searching for a striker all summer and have now apparently turned their attentions to Ayew after having been turned down by a number of other previous targets.
Carlos Bacca and Alexandre Lacazette are two high-profile names to have rejected West Ham this summer. Now, West Ham are looking at Ayew to come in and lead the line next season.
Ayew was relegated with Aston Villa last season as they finished rock-bottom of the Premier League. The talented striker is now seeking a move back to the top flight, making West Ham a very attractive prospect for him.
Ayew scored seven Premier League goals in a poor Villa side last season, which is a decent return considering the form of the players in and around him throughout the campaign.
OCG Nice, of Ligue 1, are also thought to be keen and could rival West Ham for the forward.
