Aston Villa target left out of Hull side
Rumoured Aston Villa target Abel Hernandez has been left out of Hull City’s squad for their English League Cup game tonight.
Phillip Buckingham from the Hull Daily Mail has reported that Hernandez didn’t travel with the Tigers squad to Exeter so they could protect his hernia injury.
Twitter: Abel Hernandez won’t be involved at Exeter tonight. He hasn’t travelled. #hcafc say they’re “protecting a hernia injury.” (@PJBuckingham)
But in recent days rumours have mounted that Abel Hernandez could well be the number nine striker that the Villans are chasing after. Fichajes most recently reporting a move was on the cards.
Hernandez joined the Premier League side when they were last in England’s top flight between 2014/15 from Palermo, but he failed to save them from the drop.
He was top scorer with 19 goals last season for Hull under Steve Bruce as they returned back to England’s top flight at the first time of asking.
It could well be that Hernandez does have an injury but it adds further fuel to the fire in both Hull and Aston.
