Aston Villa take on Bristol City tomorrow afternoon in a three o clock kick off at Ashton Gate.
The game will be Villa’s second game on the bounce away from home as they look to add to their current five points they have gained so far this season.
Manager Roberto Di Matteo revealed in his press conference yesterday that he will be without Rudy Gestede, Aaron Tshibola and Joe Bennett who have all been ruled out through injury.
Tshibola has a groin injury and Bennett has a calf injury.
Meanwhile, new signings Mile Jedinak and Ritchie De Laet could be expected to start. Jedinak received international clearance earlier on this week.
It will be the first time the two sides have met competitively since 1982 when the Midlands side came away victorious in a 1-0 FA Cup win.
Read Aston Villa has compiled the expected XI for tomorrow’s game. Take a look.
Pierluigi Gollini
No disputing this one.
Ritchie De Laet
Leandro Bacuna has operated well so far at right back but injuries higher up the pitch could see him pushed into a midfield role.
Ritchie De Laet will potentially be handed his debut if Bacuna moves up the field.
James Chester
James Chester is starting to build up a solid partnership alongside Tommy Elphick in the heart of Villa’s defence.
Tommy Elphick
The captain has led by example so far and is the first name on the team sheet without a doubt.
Aly Cissokho
Jordan Amavi is potentially close to full fitness, but Aly Cissokho has performed well so far this season so there is no real reason to drop him.
Mile Jedinak
Mile Jedinak will make his debut no international clearance has been granted surely?
The Australian international is a holding midfielder so he will give Westwood and Gardner more freedom to roam.
Ashley Westwood
Ashley Westwood has gone rather unnoticed so far this season and is severely underrated for his work.
Gary Gardner
Gary Gardner still has a huge point to prove to the Villa faithful. His performances so far have not lived up to expectations.
Leandro Bacuna
If you asked many Villa fans last season who you didn’t expect to see in a claret and blue shirt this season it would’ve been Leandro Bacuna.
Bacuna has knuckled down and is impressing so far in a variety of positions so far this campaign.
Jack Grealish
Jack Grealish is possibly the most lethal outlet Villa have alongside Ross McCormack. His link up play is developing well and can be a real danger to Bristol City.
Ross McCormack
Ross McCormack is steadily getting back up to full fitness and is always a handful.
Aston Villa have created more chances than any other side in the Championship this season. It is now time to see McCormack get firing after his first goal last week against Huddersfield.
