Predicted Starting XI To Play Against Ipswich
Once again, Aston Villa’s inability to see out a game cost them two valuable points on Wednesday evening. In a serious case of deja vu, Villa allowed Brentford to score an equalizer with only two minutes of normal time left on the clock.
This late goal, along with the the 85th minute goal conceded against Sheffield Wednesday, the 86th minute goal conceded against Huddersfield Town and the 87th minute goal conceded against Nottingham Forest means that Villa have now dropped 7 points in the last 5 minutes of four out of their seven games. Therefore, instead of sitting 17th in the table, they could (and probably should) actually be sitting in 4th place.
Villa’s next game is away against Ipswich on Saturday afternoon. Ipswich have got off to a pretty decent start and sit 9th in the table after having collected 11 points from their first seven games (3 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses).
Villa have a few injury concerns for the match; Ross McCormack picked up a knock to his knee against Brentford on Wednesday evening and had to be substituted at half-time. The extent of his injury is unknown at this stage. To add to this, it has recently been revealed that Ritchie De Laet has picked up a knee ligament injury and, as a result, he will miss the rest of the season.
However, there is a ray of sunshine as it looks like Tshibola, who has missed the last 4 games due to groin injury, will be fit to play. Albert Adomah, who is yet to make his debut for Villa, should also be fit to play. Furthermore, Jack Grealish has returned to training and barring any set-backs, he should also be available to play on Saturday.
In this slideshow, I have selected the XI players that I believe will start against Ipswich at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon.
