Aston Villa Finally Win An Away Game
Aston Villa have won away, I repeat, Villa have won away. This is no sick joke, this is reality.
When Villa beat Bournemouth at Dean Court on the 8th August 2015, not one single Villa fan, not even the most pessimistic among us, envisioned that it would be a whopping 438 days before they saw their team win away from home again.
However, that is how long it was; 1 whole year and 73 days.
In that period of time Villa played 27 away games across all competitions and they drew 6 of those and lost the rest. To add to this, in the space of those 14 months, Villa had five managers come and go. That’s right, in 62.5 weeks, Villa had more managers than they did away wins.
Now, thanks to Ayew’s last minute goal (nice of us to finally score one instead of concede one) against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday evening, the wait for an away win is finally over.
Let us hope that our away wins are now like London buses; you wait for one for so long and then two or three come along at once.
Here are some of the best reactions from the game.
