Nottingham Forest looking to take Gardner on loan
Nottingham Forest have enquired about Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner, according to the Birmingham Mail.
His place in the team has been under threat, with other players like Conor Hourihane and Henri Lansbury arriving during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old has been at Aston Villa for the whole of his playing career, starting at the youth academy level and making his way up to the first team.
If he does go, it is being reported as a loan deal, and not a permanent move. Gardner is no stranger to loan deals, having been on loan five times since 2011 during his Aston Villa career.
Gardner has also represented England at youth levels and has made 15 appearances at four different levels with the England team.
While at Villa, he has made 33 appearances, scoring just one goal. His loan spells have been slightly more successful, having already been on loan at Nottingham Forest twice, making 38 appearances, but netting just six times.
