Aston Villa reportedly make offer for Aaron Mooy
Aston Villa have made an offer for Manchester City midfielder Aaron Mooy, according to a report from SBS, a news agency in his homeland of Australia.
The 26-year-old has had a fantastic season whilst on loan at Huddersfield Town and, according to the report, is subject to offers from Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby County as well as the Villans.
The Australian international has scored four goals and has had ten assists for the Terriers and has earned plenty of plaudits for his performances.
He signed for City for a nominal fee from their feeder club Melbourne City in 2014 and there’s a good chance they could cash in for around £10million.
There is no news in the report about the value of Villa’s bid, or the amount that any of the other teams have apparently offered.
The fact that Villa have a small budget might also be enough to doubt this story, although they could, in theory, sell some players to raise funds for such a move.
The player himself is focusing solely on Huddersfield’s promotion bid so no moves are expected to be discussed until after the playoff final.
