Spanish giants ‘in constant contact’ with Amavi
Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly in ‘constant contact’ with Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi.
L’Equipe, as cited by Sport Witness claim that the Spanish side have identified Amavi as the ideal back-up and long-term replacement for Filipe Luis.
The La Liga side are set to lose the highly thought of Theo Hernandez to Real Madrid this summer and will be in the market for another left-sided defender.
Amavi could be available for around €10-€12 million this summer, with Villa struggling in the Championship.
Many expected the defender to leave the club following their relegation to England’s second division, but the Frenchman has stayed loyal to Villa during what has been a tricky time in his career, where his brief spell in England has been blighted by injuries.
Steve Bruce has been told that he needs to sell in order to buy this summer and Amavi may be one of the more high-profile names set to leave.
