According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are keeping an eye on Jamie Hopcutt – an English winger who is currently plying his trade with Swedish side Ostersund.

The 25-year-old signed for the Scandinavian club back in 2012 after he was failing to make the grade in his homeland. He had a spell at York City which was extremely unsuccessful, so he ended up dropping down the divisions where he spent more unsuccessful times with Ossett Town and Tadcaster Albion, before deciding it was best to try his luck abroad.

His time on the continent has seen him develop into an exciting winger, and in the 5 years he has been playing with Ostersund, he has scored 38 goals in 109 matches, helping his team win two promotions to the Swedish first division. Furthermore, last Thursday, he scored a stunning goal in their shock Europa Cup win over Galatasaray

Wolves and Brighton are also interested in signing the winger, who reportedly would cost around £1.5 million.
