According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa’s Albert Adomah faces two week on the sidelines after picking up a gash to his left shin in last week’s friendly against Telford United.

The Ghanaian international was taken off just before the half hour mark after he collided with a Telford player while trying to start a counter attack.

It is understood that Adomah had to have four stitches in his shin as a result of the tackle, and he also strained some ligaments in the back of his knee.

Villa are scheduled to travel to Germany later this week for a mini tournament at the MSV Arena in Duisburg. However, due to his injury, Adomah won’t take any part in it.

He will now probably only have the match against Watford on the 29th July at Villa Park to prove his fitness ahead of Villa’s opening game against Hull on the 5th August.

The winger was one of Villa’s best performers last season, scoring 3 goals and 10 assists in 30 matches.
