Forest eye move for Gardner
Nottingham Forest are eyeing up a move for Gary Gardner on a permanent deal, according to The Mirror.
The report claims that Forest are looking to swoop for Gardner after two previous loan spells at the club.
Gardner is looking to leave Villa this summer, with his chances of first-team football for next season appearing limited.
Villa recently completed the signing of Glenn Whelan from Stoke, pushing Gardner further down the pecking order.
The 25-year-old had stints on loan at Forest in 2015 and 2016, racking up 38 Championship appearances in the process.
Despite featuring 26 times in the league last season for Villa, he is unlikely to make quite as many appearances in the upcoming season.
Gardner signed a new contract with the club in December 2016 but now looks set for a move away just over seven months on.
There is no mention of a potential fee at this point in time.
