Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur winger Josh Onomah on loan.

The youngster’s chances at Spurs ahead of the coming season were looking slim, and he now has an opportunity to play consistent first-team football in the Championship with Villa.

Steve Bruce’s side have been busy in the summer transfer window so far and the signing of Onomah is sure to bolster their attacking ranks even further.

Onomah was an important part of the England Under-20 squad that went on to win their World Cup this summer, so he will head to Villa Park full of confidence ahead of this weekend’s fixture against Hull.

The exciting winger featured sporadically for Spurs last season and made just 12 appearances in the league, but he’ll be keen to impress Mauricio Pochettino from afar this season with Villa.
