Villa got back to winning ways at the weekend with a comfortable 3-0 win over Barnsley, and they will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they take on Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday Evening.
These two sides, who are both favorites for promotion, met in the Championship last Tuesday and a took a share of the spoils. However, it was a game that Villa dominated and one that they should really have taken all three points from.
However, they were profligate (and somewhat unlucky) in front of goal, and Villa fans will be hoping that this is not the case on Tuesday night.
Despite the win at the weekend, Bruce is likely to make a number of changes for this match since his main aim this season is to take Villa back to the Premier League.
Therefore, without further ado, below is our predicted Villa XI to face Middlesbrough tomorrow evening:
GK: Jed Steer
Has been Villa’s keeper in the cup, and we reckon Bruce will stick with him tomorrow evening.
RB: James Bree
We reckon Elmohamady will be given a rest and Bruce will pick a specialized right back for tomorrow’s game.
CB: James Chester
Hasn’t had much of a rest this season, but we reckon he won’t get one here either.
CB: Christopher Samba
Has been out injured recently, but if he’s fit to play, we could see him start.
LB: Birkir Bjarnason
We reckon Taylor will be given a rest and Bjarnason will cover at left-back like he has done for the two previous cup games.
RM: Robert Snodgrass
Villa look more dangerous when Snodgrass is playing down the right, so don’t think he will be given a rest for this game.
CM: Mile Jedinak
Missed the game at the weekend due to a sore groin, but if he’s fit, he should play this one as he needs game time.
CM: Josh Onomah
Played 30 minutes at the weekend, and we reckon he will be paired alongside Jedinak for tomorrow’s match.
LM: Albert Adomah
Has been in fine form recently, so Bruce should definitely give him another start again his old club.
ST: Keinan Davis
Terrorized Barnsley’s defence at the weekend and scored his first senior goal for Villa. He should be rewarded with another start tomorrow.
ST: Jonathan Kodjia
Needs game time, so he should play the first hour tomorrow.
