Villa picked up another three vital points at the weekend as they defeated Nottingham Forest 2-1 at Villa Park on Saturday evening.
This win lifts them up to 9th in the table on 13 points, just 2 points of the play-off places and 7 away from automatic qualification. This isn’t a bad position considering the poor start that they had to the campaign. In fact, they are now 6 league games unbeaten.
Games come thick and fast in the Championship and Villa have the chance to move into a play-off place on Tuesday evening when they travel to the Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday evening to face Burton Albion.
Burton have had a mixed start to the season and they currently sit in 19th place with 9 points from their opening 9 matches. This has consisted of 2 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses.
Here is our predicted XI for tomorrow’s game against Burton Albion:
GK: Sam Johnstone
Has been in fine form as of late, and as Villa’s number one, he will definitely be starting on Tuesday evening.
RB: Ahmed Elmohamady
Despite having three proper right-backs at his disposal, Bruce seems to favour Elmohamady at the moment, and we don’t see that changing.
CB: John Terry
Has started to show the class we all expected of him, and as club captain as well, there’s no way he will be dropped for this one.
CB: James Chester
His partnership with John Terry is starting to flourish and Bruce will not want to break this up.
LB: Neil Taylor
As Villa’s only senior left-back, he will start again on Tuesday evening.
RM: Robert Snodgrass
Has provided Villa with more quality in attack, and he will definitely start against Burton.
CM: Mile Jedinak
If he’s fit, he should start ahead of Whelan who has been pretty average as of late.
CM: Conor Hourihane
Provides Villa with an extra attacking threat due to his set-piece taking abilities. He will almost certainly start tomorrow evening.
LM: Albert Adomah
Is showing excellent form at the moment, and it would be a huge surprise if he was left out of the starting XI on Tuesday.
ST: Keinan Davis
Davis has been a breath of fresh air for Villa fans, and Bruce will reward his hard work with another start against Burton.
ST: Jonathan Kodjia
Is slowly getting back to his best and was involved in both goals on Saturday evening. He will get another 60-70 minutes here too.
