Aston Villa linked with move for Jack Marriott
Aston Villa are reportedly among a host of clubs interested in signing Peterborough striker Jack Marriott.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Villains have been monitoring Marriott’s progress with the Posh, as he continues to enjoy a strong season in League One.
Marriott only joined Peterborough in the summer transfer window but has bedded in seamlessly. He has netted 17 goals in his most recent 30 games, establishing himself as one of the club’s most important players.
However, perhaps worryingly for Peterborough, his excellent form hasn’t gone unnoticed and clubs such as Villa are beginning to sniff around.
It’s claimed by the Daily Mail that Peterborough would be willing to negotiate a move away for Marriott, though, but only on their terms. The report indicates that the asking price for the ex-Luton man would be in the region of £2.5m.
QPR and Sunderland are both also credited with interest.
