Aston Villa’s poor December form continued as they were beaten 2-1 by Brentford on Tuesday evening. It was yet another game where poor individual errors cost them dearly.
They have now picked up only three points from the last possible fifteen and now see themselves sitting in eight place, three points outside the play-off places. To add to this, key players keep picking up injuries with Adomah being the latest casualty.
Unfortunately, games come thick and fast at this time of year, so injured players don’t have much time to recover before the next match. Therefore, due to the current injury list, Bruce will have some tricky decisions to make when it comes down to Villa’s next match away to Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon.
This is a must win match for Villa now, otherwise they could find themselves six points adrift of a coveted play-off position come Saturday evening.
Here’s our predicted XI for Saturday’s away match at the Riverside Stadium.
