Aston Villa winger Andre Green has signed a new contract at the Championship club, keeping him at Villa park until 2020, according to a report on the Birmingham Mail.
The 19-year-old had to undergo hamstring surgery in September, but he returned in January only to see further hamstring problems keep him out of action for the last two months.
However, he is slowly recovering and could be back to full training with the squad next month.
Green has featured 26 times for Aston Villa already in his young career and has been tipped by many as the star of the future for promotion-chasing Villa.
Green is a product of the Aston Villa youth academy and was a crucial part of the team at the start of the season.
The England Under-20 international is set to return at the business end of the season and may yet have a key part to play for Steve Bruce’s men in their bid for promotion to the Premier League.
Bruce is a huge fan of Green and said:
Andre is a real talent and one who could be the future of this club. There’s a good group of U23s at the club right now.
