Terry considering another season at Villa if they’re promoted
Aston Villa defender and former Chelsea captain John Terry is considering playing for another season at Villa Park.
The Mirror reports that the defender could stay for an extra season if the club are promoted to the top flight this season.
The 37-year-old believes he can manage another season at the top level.
Terry is under contract until the end of the season and has stated that he would not want to play against his former side Chelsea.
The report suggests that Terry could remain at the club if they do not go up but the defender would have to agree to take a pay cut.
Terry has been an influential member of the Villa squad this season. Steve Bruce has been keen to utilise his leadership skills to boost the club’s promotion chances.
Villa currently sit fourth in the Championship table, nine points behind Cardiff, who occupy the second automatic promotion spot.
