Aston Villa have been linked with a move for QPR midfielder Massimo Luongo, according to reports from Australia.

Luongo is an Australian international and has been impressive so far this season for Queens Park Rangers.

The midfielder has scored four goals in his last six Championship games, and has hit career form going into the 2018 World Cup in Russia this Summer.

The World Game report that Villa, alongside Crystal Palace and Spanish side Malaga, are all taking an interest in Luongo.

Villa almost signed Luongo from Swindon Town three years ago, but the Australian instead decided on a move to Loftus Road. The Australian could finally be making the move to Villa Park this Summer, something that would be helped by Aston Villa gaining promotion to the Premier League.

Luongo’s mentor and advisor, former Tottenham and QPR scout David Magrone, said that Luongo is now ready to flourish after adding goals to his game recently.

Magrone said:

Mass is doing nothing different but the big change is that he’s been scoring and that gets you in the headlines.

I have no doubt he has the capacity to play in the Premier League, and also in Europe, whether that’s in Spain or Italy.
