Hammers set asking price for Villa target Robert Snodgrass

Aston Villa have been told that they will need to pay somewhere in the region of £12 million to sign Robert Snodgrass permanently this summer, according to a report from the Birmingham Mail.

The report claims that Aston Villa are interested in a permanent transfer this summer, but promotion back to the Premier League may well be the deciding factor.

Villa may only be able to stump up the necessary cash as a Premier League side, given the riches that come with that.

The Scotsman has impressed since joining Villa on loan from West Ham, playing a key role in their bid to secure promotion.

Reports suggested that David Moyes tried to recall the player earlier this season, which hints at a possible place in the West Ham squad going forward.

However, Snodgrass himself may look for a clean break this summer. His move to West Ham was heavily criticised by those behind the scenes at the London Stadium.

Villa are currently fourth in the Championship and look set for a place in the play-offs.
