# Boilesen bid Rejected

According to reports in the [Birmingham Mail](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa---who-nicolai-9555559)Aston Villa, have had a £1.3 million bid turned down by Ajax for left-back, Nicolai Boilesen.

Boilesen, 23, is the Ajax captain and has a year left to run on his current deal in Amsterdam with Ajax director Marc Overmars confirming the Danish international is looking for a move by saying: ”He has indicated that he wants to look abroad, and that is fine.”

Boilesen has won the Dutch league four times with Ajax since joining as a youth from Brondby in 2009.

Sherwood is in the market for a left-back with Aly Cissokho being told he can leave, the fitness of Kieran Richardson a cause for concern, and Joe Bennett’s future still undecided. Reports suggest Villa would have to stump up another £1 million to get their man.
