# Chery Wants England Move

[The Birmingham Mail](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-playmaking-target-fancies-9597940)are reporting that Aston Villa target, Tjaronn Chery has told his current club, Groningen that he wants to leave the Dutch outfit  for a side in England.

Reports in recent weeks have suggested that Villa have tabled a £3-million bid for the attacking midfielder, but it is believed Villa would have to offer more for Groningen to take the offer more seriously.

Chery, 27, had his best season to date in the Eredivisie, bagging 15 goals as well as laying on 10 goals.

Juninho Bacuna (Leandros Bacuna’s Brother) plays alongside Chery at FC Groningen with the latter playing a vital role in Groningen winning their first trophy in their history in May.

Chery was part of the Groningen side, that took Paul Lambert’s Villa apart 4-1 scoring twice. He was immediately put on Villa’s radar after the game.

The 27-year old was blocked from moving to the Chinese side, Jiangsu Guoxin-Sainty in January. A move to the Premier League looks most likely for him this summer though with Aston Villa a prominent suitor.
