# Veretout signs for Villa

French U-21 International, Jordan Veretout has completed his move from Nantes to Aston Villa for a reported fee of around £10m and has signed a five-year deal with the club.

The midfielder has been chased by a handful of clubs this summer and will be a welcome signing for Villa fans as finally start to see their new squad piece together.

At the age of 22, Veretout has made over 140 appearances for Nantes since making his debut in 2011.

Veretout becomes Villa’s fourth signing from France this summer after already capturing Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Amavi, and Jordan Ayew.

Tim Sherwood said he was, “pleased” that Veretout had opted to “choose Aston Villa” over other clubs he could have joined.

Sherwood went on to say that he was “vastly experienced” despite only being 22. The manager described him as an “exciting young player” and that he was “very highly rated” when playing in France and the club were “delighted” to get the deal over the line.
