# Sherwood On The Verge

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood is facing major question marks over his future at the club with [Neil Moxley from the Daily Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/tim-sherwood-given-two-games-6610295#ICID=sharebar_twitter) reporting that the Villa boss has only two games to save his tenure at Villa Park.

Moxley writes that the Villa hierarchy are far from pleased with Villa’s start to the season especially with so many new recruits over the summer with no fewer than 12 players moving to the Villans. Brendan Rodgers is said to be high on a list of managers that the Villa board would look at if Sherwood was to be given the boot.

The Villa faithful are yet to see their side win in the league since their opening day 1-0 victory over Bournemouth. Since then they have witnessed defeats at the hands of local rivals, West Bromwich Albion as well as failing to see out a lead away at Leicester City – where Sherwood came under immense pressure for his tactical decisions.

### The Saviour In May – The Villain By October

The report from Neil Moxley represents a total turn in the tide since May when Tim Sherwood led Villa to Premier League safety and an FA Cup final. The fans loved him back then, but now the ship is sinking at a fair rate of knots.

The next two games against Swansea City and Chelsea could well prove to be the biggest of the whole season for the Midlands side. The fans and board are becoming increasingly frustrated with Sherwood – a saviour before – now a villain.
