# Cole Leaves For Coventry

[Aston Villa midfielder, Joe Cole has joined Tony Mowbray’s Coventry City on an emergency one-month loan.](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/signing-coventry-city-aston-villa-joe-cole-2746903.aspxhttp://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/signing-coventry-city-aston-villa-joe-cole-2746903.aspx)

The 33-year old joined Villa back in the summer of 2014 but has found his time limited at Villa Park with injuries and the changing of managers affecting his first team chances.

The former-Chelsea man has only appeared once so far under Tim Sherwood this season and only ten other times since joining on a free transfer from West Ham United. Coventry’s manager, Tony Mowbray described Cole as having a ‘great pedigree’ upon confirming the move and that he was sure the former-England man would make a ‘fantastic impact’ at the Ricoh Arena.

### A Fall In Grace

The move to Coventry for Cole will come as a shock to some, but as no surprise to others. Cole’s injuries throughout his career have been a disruption to a career which really took off at times. Credit has to be given for Cole for opting to move down the footballing pyramid to find some playing time.
