# Amavi Gets Support of Skipper

Micah Richards has came out in support of Jordan Amavi as he battles back from injury after finding out the French under 21 international would miss the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The Villa captain while talking to [AVFC Official](https://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~5167813,00.html?) said that as ‘captain’ he has to ensure that Amavi gets ‘everything he needs’ as he hits the road of recovery after the horrific injury.

Richards described Amavi as ‘one of the best signings’ during the summer transfer window and that he has hopeful the youngster will ‘come back stronger’.

### There couldn’t be a bigger blow – Matt Lynch

The injury to Amavi has clearly hit the Villa defence with The Villans defence leaking goals left right and centre in recent encounters.

The issues at left-back have been a running joke at Villa for some time so Amavi was a breath of fresh air.

Losing Amavi to such a horrid injury isn’t great when the backup defender is Kieran Richardson and two left-backs are out on loan.
