# Villa line up shock move for ex-Man United star

Aston Villa are to go head to head with Premier League rivals, Everton for the signature of the former-Manchester United star Nemanja Vidic.

[TalkSport](https://talksport.com/football/everton-and-aston-villa-lurk-inter-milan-set-terminate-nemanja-vidics-contract-151211177409)report that the Serbian international is set to have his contract terminated at Serie A side, Inter Milan in January and The Villans could be an ideal suitor for the centre-back.

The Villa faithful will perhaps remember Vidic’s time in England for all the wrong reasons with Vidic infamously bringing down Gabriel Agbonlahor in the Carling Cup final in 2010 and not getting sent off.

### Experience will help – Matt Lynch

The need for experience at Villa is vital, but we already have two of the most experienced centre-backs in the Premier League in Joleon Lescott and Micah Richards.

Vidic would be a superb signing for Villa as long as he wasn’t coming for a nice pay packet. Nobody can deny he was a class act for Manchester United, but he did seem to lose some of that ability in his final season at Old Trafford.
