Villa plan £11 million bill cut

Aston Villa plan cuts to shed a hefty £11-million of their wage budget in January in a bid to cut costs and give Remi Garde plenty of space for new recruits as he looks to make his mark on the transfer market to transform The Villans fortunes.

John Percy from The Telegraph reports that Charles N’Zogbia could be off to the MLS with Villa ready to pay off the remainder of his contract to get rid of the ex-Wigan winger.

Meanwhile, as long expected Libor Kozak will be sold in January according to Percy with many potential suitors over recent weeks such as Celtic and a Polish side.

The other player rumoured to be leaving in January is Gabriel Agbonlahor. Agbonlahor is Villa’s longest serving player but he has struggled for many years now with the goals drying up.

Good move, but who is coming in? – Matt Lynch

The killer question on the lips of Villa fans is who is coming in? The reality is it is all well and good cutting the costs, but if Villa plan to do this to prepare for the Championship it is shameful.

Money saved has to be reinvested in the playing squad as soon as the window opens.
