# Villa target Delort not for sale

Aston Villa’s hopes of signing Caen striker Andy Delort have been thwarted by the club’s deputy director Xavier Gravelaine as he has reiterated that the Frenchman is not up for sale in January.

Remi Garde will be looking to strengthen his Villa side with the winter transfer window coming around, but any chance of signing fellow countryman Delort has been ruled out.

Delort spent half of last season at Wigan Athletic but struggled to settle, so the Frenchman could be looking to have a second chance at life in England.

The 24-year-old has bagged six goals so far this campaign for Caen and with Garde assessing his options, it is no surprise to see the French outfit jump to the defence of Delort, warning off potential suitors.

Although Delort is now not the solution for Villa, who currently sit rock-bottom of the Premier League, another striker in January would not go a miss for Remi Garde’s team.
