# Garde enquires about Debuchy

Aston Villa manager, Remi Garde has spoken with Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger about the availability of Mathieu Debuchy as well as other Gunners players.

Speaking in his weekly [press conference,](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfer-news-remi-10697878?) Garde confirmed to the press he had spoken to Wenger about Debuchy and other players who may be available to him.

> I had a conversation with Arsene Wenger a few days about some of the players and Mathieu Debuchy was one of the players.

Debuchy has been linked with Villa amongst other teams from the Premier League in recent weeks.

Garde faced the wrath of Guus Hiddink last week after publicly talking about a move for Loic Remy so he was a lot more reserved in his conference this morning while talking about The Villans talks with Arsenal.

Villa are keen to add to their side as they look to strengthen a squad that currently sits rock bottom of the Premier League table eleven points from safety with 18 games remaining.

The Frenchman has played a bit-part role in the Gunners’ successes this campaign, playing just twice in the Premier League in the absence of Hector Bellerin.
