# Villa set to have new badge ahead of next season

Aston Villa will have a new badge for next season, according to the [Birmingham Mail](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/exclusive-aston-villa-blow-fortune-11142213).

The current badge, which was introduced in the summer of 2007, will be replaced by a new badge which will not feature the ‘prepared’ motto, which has been a feature of many different Villa badges throughout the years.

The rumoured cost of the re-design of Villa’s badge is around £2m, the Birmingham Mail reports. The project of the badge re-design is being led by Charlie Wijeratna, Villa’s chief commercial officer, who was appointed by Tom Fox in February 2015 after a spell at Tottenham Hotspur along with working on the sponsorship and retail operations of the 2012 London Olympics and the 2015 Baku European Games.

Despite apparent resistance from the new board, the badge re-design project will continue to move forward, as it was signed off by Tom Fox before he left his role as Villa’s CEO last month.

Will you be happy to see the current badge replaced?
