# Black: We didn’t create enough chances

Eric Black was critical of the performance of his team, as Villa fell to defeat against Bournemouth at Villa Park.

Goals from Steve Cook and Joshua King were enough to secure victory for the visitors, as Jordan Ayew’s late goal proved only to be a consolation.

Black, who selected a more defensive line-up, which included Bacuna and Richardson as wingers, said that his side failed to create enough chances to beat Bournemouth.

Speaking to the [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35949318) after the game, Black said:

> Not going down today is a small consolation. We’ve conceded poor goals, but we have to remain professional until the end.
>
> We didn’t create as many chances as we would have liked. Ultimately if you concede poor goals it will be hard to score.

Eric Black also discussed the atmosphere at Villa Park, saying that it is difficult to play in such an atmosphere. However, he was also sympathetic to the supporters and praised their continuing attendance, despite Villa’s appalling results throughout the season.

> I’m sure it’s not easy to play in that atmosphere, but there have only been two or three victories here this season so I won’t be criticising the supporters.
>
> They turned out again today, which I find remarkable. This is certainly not down to the supporters.

Villa travel to Manchester United next Saturday, knowing anything other than a win against Louis Van Gaal’s team will ensure that relegation to the Championship is confirmed.
