Villa travel to Old Trafford this weekend, knowing anything other than a win will see them relegated regardless of other results.
Manchester United have always been tough opponents for Villa, even though in recent years they have been far from the best. However both David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal have enjoyed comprehensive wins against Villa, despite generally struggling during their time with Manchester United.
Villa have not won at Old Trafford since November 2009, when Gabby Agbonlahor’s header gave a Villa side managed by Martin O’Neill a 1-0 win. Since then, Villa have lost five consecutive matches at Old Trafford, conceding just over three goals a game on average.
Villa’s last trip to Old Trafford came at the beginning of April last year, when United ran out comfortable 3-1 winners, despite Benteke’s late goal giving Villa hope.
