Former Villa players have reacted to the news that Villa will be playing in the Championship next season.
Villa’s relegation to the second tier was confirmed after Villa’s 1-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford, which left Villa 15 points adrift of Norwich with only four games to go and confirmed what fans had feared for a number of seasons.
In truth, it’s not a shock that Villa have been relegated, with Villa flirting with relegation for the past six years under numerous different managers, with Villa surviving by ever narrower margins every year, before falling through the trap door this year.
A number of former players including the likes of Darren Bent, Dion Dublin, Ian Taylor and Carlos Cuellar all had their say following the confirmation that Villa’s 28-year stay in the top flight will come to an end next month.
