# Aston Villa star linked with move abroad

Aston Villa defender Joleon Lescott is a transfer target for Besiktas, according to [reports in Turkey](https://www.fotospor.com/haber-besiktasa-joleon-lescott-teklifi-219155).

The 33-year-old only joined Villa on a two-year deal from Midlands rivals West Brom in the summer of 2015, but with relegation to the Championship now confirmed, it is a realistic possibility that he could find himself moving on.

The former England international has played 30 Premier League games for Villa this season so he will need replacing if sold.

Besiktas tried to sign Lescott in the summer of 2014, but the defender decided to join West Brom, but despite him being part of a relegated side, it appears that the Turkish side are still interested in him.

According to the report, Senol Gunes’ side want to sign AC Milan defender Cristian Zapata but they are not 100% confident of a deal getting done and have lined up Lescott as a potential plan B.
