# Three clubs interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder

Brighton, Burnley, and Nottingham Forest are all interested in signing midfielder Gary Gardner from Aston Villa, according to a report from Leigh Curtis of the [Nottingham Post](https://www.nottinghampost.com/Nottingham-Forest-face-competition-Gary-Gardner/story-29212110-detail/story.html) .

Gardner has impressed during his second stint on loan at Forest and the Nottingham-based side are keen to make his move permanent, but Villa will likely want to either sell him to a Premier League side or keep him for themselves.

Newly promoted Burnley could be a good club to sell the 23-year-old to if Villa decide to cash in on him as it means he won’t be playing for a Championship rival next season. The same could be said for Brighton too if they can secure promotion.

The former England U21 midfielder came through the Villa youth system and made his debut in 2011 but has never nailed down a place in the side.

He’s had loan spells with Coventry, Sheffield Wednesday, Brighton, and Forest, giving him plenty of experience of lower league football.

Time will tell if Villa decide to keep him for this experience or cash in and try to invest funds elsewhere.
