# Moyes rules himself out of Villa job

Aston Villa’s hunt for a new manager has hit a snag this afternoon after BBC WM reported that former Everton boss David Moyes had ruled himself out of the running for the vacant post.

The Villans who dropped out of the top flight of English football for the first time in 28 years this season have been without a manager since dismissing Remi Garde at the end of March.

Moyes started his managerial career at Preston North End where he took them out of the old Division 2 and a play-off final in Division 1 before moving on to Everton in 2002.

During his time at Everton, he reached the FA Cup final as well as breaking the infamous top four in the 2003/04 season.

He joined Manchester United in 2013/14 filling the boots of Alex Ferguson but he didn’t even last a season when he was fired in April of that campaign. The Scot moved to Spain in November 2014 to manage Real Sociedad where he lasted one year.

Nigel Pearson, Roberto Di Matteo and Moyes have been the firm favourites for the job with the latter seemingly now out of the race.
