# Who missed the most football this season at Aston Villa?

Aston Villa players have been accused of going missing all season by some fans over the course of the campaign, but some players have spent more time out injured than playing this season according to [Injury League](https://injuryleague.com/2016/05/aston-villa-percentage-season-missed-players-injury-1516/?).

The results do not throw up many surprises on who missed the most football with Jordan Amavi taking that crown after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury whilst on international duty for the French U21 side.

The French U21 international was a key player in Villa’s side up to his injury. A notable gap was left in an already leaky Villa defence with Aly Cissokho having to be recalled from a season-long loan at Porto to fill the void.

Gabriel Agbonlahor also missed over 50% of potential game time through injury. Was he much of a miss to the squad? Gary Gardner also hits the 50% mark, but it has to be remembered he was a lynchpin in Nottingham Forest’s side from January onwards. Fan favourite Adama Traore missed 48% of the season through injury.

Fans would have hoped these players missed more of the season through injury but the likes of Joleon Lescott and Leandro Bacuna only missed 2% of the season each.

The amount of injuries this season for Villa was the eighth highest in the Premier League alongside Crystal Palace. Newcastle United topped the table for the only time amounting a huge 397 injuries with Liverpool in second with 284 injuries.

Would Jordan Amavi and Adama Traore made much of a difference to Aston Villa’s season if fully fit for more of it?
