# Aston Villa table bid for Reading man

Aston Villa have tabled a £5-million bid for the Reading midfielder Aaron Tshibola.

[John Percy from the Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/04/aston-villa-manager-roberto-di-matteo-makes-5m-bid-for-reading/) reports how the Villans have put forward an offer to the Berkshire side and are hopeful of completing a deal despite apparent interest from Premier League sides for the youngster.

The 21-year-old is well known to Villa assistant manager Steve Clarke who gave him his debut last season. It has been said already in the past that Celtic, West Bromwich Albion, Crystal Palace and Norwich City had all had an interest in Tshibola.

He has only made 40 senior appearances since turning professional but has earned rave reviews at the Madejski Stadium. His current deal does not expire in at the Berkshire club until 2019.

So far Villa have only made one signing this summer with the capturing of defender Tommy Elphick from Bournemouth.
