The 2010 League Cup final side: Where are they now?

It’s been over six years since Villa reached their only Cup final under Martin O’Neill, in a game which was massively influenced by referee Phil Dowd in the fourth minute.

He gave Villa a penalty, which Milner scored, but failed to send off Nemanja Vidic despite the United defender being their last man. Ultimately, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side got back into the game and equalized via Michael Owen before a Wayne Rooney header in the second-half ensured that Villa went home empty handed.

Since then, nearly all of the players who played in that game and the manager have moved on, with only Agbonlahor still left, whilst Petrov continues his fantastic recovery from leukaemia as he looks to earn a contract at Villa.

Furthermore, a couple of those players who played at Wembley that day have since retired, others have gone on to win Premier League titles whilst one of them has become an actor.
