Gollini is a former Manchester United academy player but left England for Verona in 2014. He has come on a recommendation from Villa’s new goalkeeping coach Italian, Massimo Battara.

It has been reported for a while now that the Villans were in the market for a goalkeeper with American Brad Guzan expected to potentially leave the club this summer.

Last season Gollini made 26 appearances in the Serie A for Verona. He has represented Italy at U19 level.
