Could This XI Gain Villa Promotion?

Everyone concerned with Aston Villa will be hoping that our stay in the Sky Bet Championship is a short one; one season to be precise.

The club and its fans have known nothing but the First division since 1988. For Villa fans, like myself, who are younger than 28 years old, the First Division is all we have ever known. Villa were founding members of the Premier League back in 1992 and, up until the end of last season, were one of only 7 clubs not to have been relegated from the prestigious Premier League.

However, a dreadful and, quite frankly, embarrassing 2015/16 campaign now means, that for the first time in 28 years, the club will be plying its trade in the unfamiliar surroundings of the second-tier of English football.

Roberto Di Matteo and Tony Xia have already brought in some fresh talent to the club with three signings. With a few more new arrivals expected before the transfer window closes at the end of August, the sense of optimism surrounding the steadily approaching season is growing.

In the following slideshow, I shall take a look at a Villa XI that will hopefully be able to achieve promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.

P.S. I understand that some of the players that feature in this slideshow may not even be not even still be at Villa when the Championship Campaign begins. However, I have included them under the assumption that they hopefully will be.
